1. Salon Themed “International Arbitration Model Opera” Successfully Held
The 3rd Arbitrators’ Salon of 2014 (107th in total) was successfully co-hosted by the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC) on 24
April 2014. Ms. Teresa Cheng, a Senior Counsel in Hong Kong, Chairperson of the HKIAC and an arbitrator on the BAC Panel of Arbitrators, was the keynote speaker at the event where she
systematically introduced the international arbitration process by applying HKIAC arbitration rules (2013 revised edition) to a mock international arbitration case. The specific process
includes notice of arbitration, appointment of arbitrators, formation of arbitral tribunal, application for arbitration, defenses and counter-claims, making a procedural order, exchanging
witness statements and expert reports, presenting opening statements, holding an oral hearing, making final statements and making an award.

2. BAC Co-organized the 11th “New Academics” Paper Contest Hosted by China University of Political Science and Law
The 11th “New Academics” Paper Contest award ceremony was successfully held at the graduate school of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPSL) on the evening of May 29, 2014.
CUPSL and the BAC co-organized this event. Mr. Jiang Ping, Honorary Chairperson of the BAC and a Tenured Professor of CUPSL, and Mr. Lin Zhiwei, Secretary General of the BAC, attended the
award ceremony. As the highest-level academic activity for the graduate students at CUPSL, “New Academics” Contest aims to “carry forward the spirit of rule of law, hone humanistic
characters, bring in fresh academic air and cultivate new academics”. It was the eleventh year that the Contest was held. BAC has sponsored this Contest since 2008 by undertaking all
expenditures in order to provide strong support to university students for their academic research activities.

3. BAC and European Branch of Association of Corporate Counsel Co-hosted Arbitration Seminar
BAC and ACC-Europe (Association of Corporate Counsel, European Branch) jointly hosted the seminar on Commercial Arbitration in China on June 3, 2014 in Paris. The event was attended by Ms.
Wang Hongsong, Vice chairperson of the BAC, Mr. Chen Fuyong, Vice Secretary-General of the BAC, Mr. John Lowe, Chairperson of the ACC-Europe, as well as more than 30 professionals from
China and Europe. Paris Office of Bird & Bird Law Firm exclusively assisted in organizing the seminar.

4. BAC Visited Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt&Mosle LLP as Invited
Ms. Wang Hongsong, Vice Chairpersonof the BAC and Mr. Chen Fuyong, Vice Secretary-General of the BAC were invited to visit Paris Office of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt&Mosle LLP. on June
5, 2014. Mr. Peter M. Wolrich, Chairperson of the International Arbitration Department, together with his colleagues, warmly welcomed BAC delegation.

5. The 4th Corporate Legal Forum Themed Corporate Legal Reform under Diversified Ownership Successfully Held at BAC
The 4th Forum on Corporate Legal Reform under Diversified Ownership was successfully held at BAC on June 18, 2014. The Forum was co-hosted by Corporate Legal Management & Research Center
of China University of Political Science and Law and the BAC. The participants comprised leaders of relevant government departments, directors of legal departments at large-scale
state-owned enterprises, mixed owned enterprises and foreign-owned enterprises from core nationwide industries. The Forum focused on the spirit of the documents of the central government
concerning enterprises of diversified ownership, the successful practice of some mixed owned enterprises, the potential issues and challenges in future reform, as well as some useful
suggestions on how to address these issues.
