2014 Paris Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China Successfully Held in Paris
The 2014 Paris Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China was jointly hosted by the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC) and the Beijing Arbitration
Commission (BAC) on June 4, 2014 at the ICC Global Headquarters in Paris. More than one hundred experts from the worldwide arbitration community participated in the Summit, including
officials of famous arbitral institutions, scholars from academic and research institutions and partners from leading international law firms. The Summit was supported by Herbert Smith
Freehills LLP and WunschArb. During the Summit, the Annual Review on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China (2014) (English version) was officially released for the first time, which was
written by top Chinese experts from all fields of commercial dispute resolution in China. The speakers, basing on this report, discussed the latest developments of commercial dispute
resolution in China, covering arbitration, mediation, international trade, investment, construction, real estate, energy, intellectual property and finance.

The 2014 London Summit on Commercial Dispute Resolution in China was jointly hosted by the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), the Centre for Commercial Law
Studies, Queen Mary University of London and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London on June 6, 2014 in London. It was the second time that the Summit was held since
2013. Taking the official release of the BAC publication-Commercial Dispute Resolution in China: An Annual Review and Preview (2014)- as the opportunity, the Summit attracted nearly one
hundred professionals from China, the UK and other countries. The participants comprised leading academics, Queen’s Counsels and senior partners of top worldwide law firms. The Summit
carried out comprehensive and deep discussion on various fields of commercial dispute resolution in China.

Declaration of 2014 BAC Scientific Research Fund
The Beijing Arbitration Commission establishes a research fund in BAC’s name for the purpose of promoting the practice and theory research on alternative dispute
resolution (ADR), like arbitration, mediation and dispute review. The recipients can be staff members of the BAC, arbitrators, lawyers, domestic and foreign college teachers and students,
personnel of research institutions, as well as staff members of courts, administrative departments and trade associations. The BAC research funding is dedicated to financially support the
research based on ADR practice at BAC and of significant academic & practical value. This funding also encourages cooperative research among interdisciplinary and cross-functional
