BAC Delegation Visited Legal Committee of China Company Association

On 15 October 2023, the delegation of Beijing Arbitration Center / Beijing International Arbitration Center (the “BAC”) led by its Chairperson Mr. Guo Wei had meeting with the Legal Committee of China Company Association (the “LCCCA”) in Hong Kong. 

Mr. Chen Junsheng, Member of the LCCCA and President of China Legal Service (H.K.) Ltd., Mr. Yang Yuntao, Deputy Director of the LCCCA and Director of the Dept. of Law and Compliance of China Merchants Group, Mr. Zhao Zhenhua, Vice President and General Manager of China Legal Service (H.K.) Ltd. and persons in charge of legal affairs of 18 China invested enterprises in Hong Kong attended the meeting.


During the meeting, Mr. Guo Wei presented a detailed introduction of the Hong Kong related caseload of the BAC, and the BAC’s experiences in resolving cross-border disputes for enterprises, providing assistance to enterprises in their going-abroad projects and Belt and Road construction. He said that the BAC had timely adopted international practice, established case management system of international standards, and has made amendments to its arbitration rules for 11 times, which has contributed to open, flexible and convenient arbitration services to parties both domestic and from abroad. After the election of the BAC committee and its reform earlier this year, the BAC will continue its internationalized, legalized and market oriented development, endeavoring to promote the construction of Beijing international arbitration hub. The BAC looks forward to having continuous cooperation and exchanges with the China Company Association, learning about the dispute resolution demand of Chinese invested enterprises in Hong Kong, improving the quality and efficiency of arbitration services accordingly, keeping the superiority of Hong Kong and Beijing as two of the top ten most welcomed arbitration seats around the world, and jointly promoting the qualified development of Chinese arbitration industry.


Mr. Chen Junsheng said that the LCCCA will continue to establish a professional exchanges platform for Chinese invested enterprises in Hong Kong, and promote enterprises from the mainland and Hong Kong to share their experiences and resources concerning law and compliance.


Persons in charge of legal affairs of China invested enterprises in Hong Kong shared their respective understandings and experiences of arbitration and diversified dispute resolution based on their practices, and had exchanges and discussion with the BAC delegation on risk prevention for cross-border enterprises, the cultivation of in-house counsels and how arbitration could better help enterprises.

All disputes arising from or in connection with this contract shall be submitted to Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center for arbitration in accordance with its rules of arbitration. The arbitral award is final and binding upon both parties.
