   The chair of the Arab Association for International Arbitration, Abdel Hamid El-Ahdab, has been appointed as Lebanon's second appointee to the ICSID panel of arbitrators.

   Chaired by Nikolai Dubik, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee assembled today for an annual meeting at the Company’s Headquarters. Taking part in the meeting were representatives of the Gazprom Legal Department.

   The meeting noted that the work done over the previous years with regard to improving the Rules of the Arbitration Court had ensured a 15 per cent cost reduction in arbitration proceedings in 2008.

   ZURICH: Swiss cement maker Holcim Ltd. said Monday it is seeking help from an international arbitration panel in a dispute with the government of Venezuela over the nationalization of its plants in the country.

   A pair of senior lawyers are to chair the Spanish Arbitration Club, replacing José María Alonso,Antonio Hierro and Jesus Remon.
