   On January 7, 2009, International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) announced the recent comprehensive revision of its official website in order to better carry out commercial arbitration business and improve the arbitration proceedings. The new version of ICCA includes latest articles of major arbitration experts and scholars.

   On January 15, 2009, ICCA released Commercial Arbitration Yearbook of 2008, which can be directly subscribed via Kluwer. And subscribers KluwerArbitration will also be able to read online. The Yearbook includes all arbitration cases and rulings of ICCA as well as cases of New York Convention commented by Albert Jan van den Berg Professor according to the classified subjects.

   On January 21, 2009, American Arbitration Association (AAA) introduced Initial Decision Maker (IDM) Procedure for construction projects. As a result, the parties concerned can take advantage of IDM to settle contract disputes under AIA 2007 prior to the mediation.

   On February 1, 2009, some of prearranged plans for the purpose of cutting duration and cost of dispute settlement has been submitted to Scottish Parliament. It is believed that Arbitration Act of Scotland can save several millions of pounds and thousands of hours of court time so that Scotland will be a worldwide leader in the field of dispute settlement. Public Security Minister said: “Scotland should become such an area facilitating commercial development, and laws and courts are required to be the strong backing of selection for Scottish arbitration”.

   On February 17, 2009, the 7th Annual International Arbitration Meeting of ICDR was held in Miami, where Legal Adviser Plan For Companies has been launched since then. From the perspective of in-house experts of companies, the issue related to international arbitration proceedings was discussed. This is the first meeting on Legal Adviser Plan For Companies convened by ICDR.

   On February 24, 2009, ICDR Arbitration Rules have been formally translated into 4 languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese and Chinese.

   On February 25, 2009, International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) announced its new Secretary General. Meg Kinnear was elected as Secretary General by Administration Committee. Secretary General is Legal Representative, Procedure Registrar and Center Director of ICSID.

   On February 7-12, 2009, the Fourth International Commercial Mediation Competition, hosted by ICC (International Commercial Mediation Competition), came to an end Secretary Bureau of ICC in Paris, and National University of Singapore headed the list. The participants from 40 universities in 18 countries carried out fierce competition in four days to apply ADR Rules of ICC for the settlement of a series of questions raised by Proposition Committee consisting of international mediation experts.
