On the afternoon of 8 May 2023, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”) delegate led by Ms. Lucy Reed, President of the SIAC Court of Arbitration, Ms. Gloria Lim, CEO of the SIAC, and Mr. Zhang Cunyuan, Chief Representative in China of the SIAC, visited the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center (“BAC”). Dr. Chen Fuyong, Deputy Secretary General of the BAC, Ms. Ma Xiaoxiao and Mr. Yin Tong, Senior Counsels of Business Development (International Arbitration) Division of the BAC, received the SIAC delegate.
In their meeting, representatives of the BAC and the SIAC shared their respective latest practice development, case management experience, and had exchanges concerning the new issues and new challenges of international arbitration. Both parties expected to have more cooperation within the area of international arbitration.
The BAC and the SIAC signed memorandum on cooperation on 15 October 2019 in Singapore. According to the memorandum, the two arbitration institutions will jointly promote international arbitration and provide qualified dispute resolution services to the international community. Both parties will have in-depth cooperation in organization of conferences, recommendation of arbitrators and personnel training.
