--50th Anniversary of New York Convention

The Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (hereafter “Convention”) set down in 1958 has had great effect and influence in promoting the development of international commercial arbitration. For the 50th Anniversary for the Convention, the Beijing Arbitration Commission (hereafter “BAC”) is co-organizing the International Commercial Arbitration Forum Beijing with other well-known international arbitration institutes. The main goal of this forum is to introduce the achievements of Chinese commercial arbitration in recent years, to embody the support of the People’s Courts concerning arbitration, to explore and further Chinese judicial reform, and to promote communication between international commercial arbitration experts.
