Jiang Ping
Professor Jiang Ping, Chairman of the Beijing Arbitration Commission since 1995, is a prominent legal philosopher, legal educator and social activist in China. In 1948, he was admitted to the Department of Journalism of Yanjing University. Later in 1951 he went to study in the Department of Law at Moscow University and graduated in 1956. After returning from abroad, he started his teaching career at Peking College of Political Science and Law, which changed into China University of Political Science and Law in 1983. Since 1982, he has been the director of the Civil Law Teaching and Research Office, vice-dean of the college, vice president of CUPL (1983-1988) and the president (1988-1990). Professor Jiang is a lifetime professor and doctorate advisor of Civil and Commercial Law. He is also entitled state subsidy for special contribution.
As a major founder of civil and commercial law science in China with outstanding achievements, the professor has made great contributions to the legislation of the Chinese Civil Code and the establishment of the company system and juridical person system.
Professor Jiang has visited the Belgian Ghent University, Hong Kong University, the Second Rome University of Italy, AOYAMA Institute University in Japan and Colombia University in the United States for lecturing, and he has been entitled the legal science honorary doctorate by the Belgian Ghent University and Italian Second Rome University, honorary professor by Peruvian Catholicism University and was awarded the Knight Medal of the Republic of Italy.
In 1988 in the seventh session, Professor Jiang was elected as representative of the National People's Congress, member of the NPC Standing Committee, Deputy Director of the NPC Legal Committee. In these capacities, he took part in the drafting of many legislative documents, including the General Principles of Civil Law, Administrative Procedure Law, Trust Law, Corporation Law and Contract Law, a great contribution in the promotion of the nation's legislation.
Among his many social concurrent posts, the main ones are, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Law Academy, Vice Chairman of Chinese Economic Law Institute, Director of the Beijing Arbitration Committee, President of the Comparative Law Institute of the Chinese Law Academy, and vice president of Beijing Bar Association.

Wang Hongsong
Mrs. Wang Hongsong is the Committee Member and the Secretary-General of the Beijing Arbitration Commission, Standing Director of Chinese Society of International Law and Vice-President of Chinese Society of International Private Law.
Mrs. Wang, born in March 1953, is a duly-licensed PRC lawyer with a Bachelors degree in economics from Beijing Economics College along with a Master of Laws degree from the University of International Business and Economics.
Mrs. Wang had acted as vice-director, director and research fellow in the Beijing Municipal Government from 1982 to 1995 in the Municipal Legal Affairs Office. During this time, she was mainly charged with the drafting and review of a broad range of legislation in economic and scientific technology fields and the review of administrative lawsuits. She was responsible for the drafting and review of dozens of local legislation and regulations and later assumed responsibility for directing many administrative review authorities in the Beijing Municipality in conducts of administrative review proceedings. She had also organized and directed the training and exchange of experiences among the administrative institutions in administrative lawsuits and administrative review.
In May 1995, Mrs. Wang was in charge of the constitution of the BAC and has been the Secretary General of the BAC and the office director, since its inception in September 1995. She has been engaged in the management of the daily work of the BAC Office since then. |
